Speaking of Dogs

Okay, so it was bears I was talking about in the previous post, but that brings to mind my old "Karelian Bear Dog" who unfortunately is no longer on this planet. Sugarbear's untimely passing prompted us to get a new dog and we chose a Great Pyrenees we named "Lilly Belle". We like the northern breeds and Pyrs, while being excellent watch dogs, are also great with kids and cats. Our kids are grown, but we still have three cats on the property – but I digress…
We take our dog along on most trips to town and she loves to travel in the truck. We don't like the idea of letting her ride in the bed of the truck, so I built her a "Lilly Pad". Her own place to ride in the truck – complete with a step and carpeted pad. Rather than recount everything here, cruise on over to our site and see our page entitled "Driving Miss Lilly". I illustrate how the pad is constructed and how I solved the problem of getting a 100 pound dog to get inside the cab that is 3' off the ground. Let me know what you think!
